	~ Basic Thermography Training (BTT) ~

Understanding the science of collecting and interpreting infrared images is vital for those who use infrared cameras as a tool in their business. Reading the camera manual to become familiar with the menus will not be enough to help you be successful in using your IR camera. You will need at the minimum a basic introductory course that discusses the principles of this technology. Restoration Consultants provides two levels of courses:
(1) Basic Thermography Training (BTT) and
(2) Applied Thermography Training (ATT).¹

BTT is an online course presented in 4 modules that takes approximately 4 hours. It contains quizzes and a final test. Learn about heat energy, phase changes, heat transfer, IR radiation and target surface thermal characteristics. You will begin the process of learning how to apply these basic principles to building moisture investigations and building envelope investigations.

The scope of this course includes:

Module I - The basic physics of infrared
Module II - The basic principles of thermodynamics and psychrometry
Module III - Building moisture investigations
Module IV - Basic building envelope investigations.

There is no additional cost for the exam. Those that successfully complete the course and pass the exam will receive:

Basic Thermography Training (BTT) - Certificate of Completion

	¹ The ATT is a more in-depth two day classroom course held in California and Florida. It covers the subjects in more detail and includes hands on camera operation and SmartView software training. Classroom interaction provides benefits that are not available in an online course. Our recommendation is to take the BTT online course and after a minimum of a few months of experience take the ATT course. For more information and a schedule of ATT classes click here.
