Meet The Instructors
Jim Holland
Jim has been actively engaged in the cleaning and restoration industry for over 35 years. He is the President of RestCon Environmental, a division of Restoration Consultants, Inc. He is a California EPA Registered Environmental Assessor, an OSHA authorized Instructor, a nationally recognized instructor, consultant, columnist and author. His firm performs Indoor Environmental Sampling, Laboratory Analysis, Restoration Consulting Services, Expert Witness services and is the largest mold remediation training firm worldwide. Jim currently holds the following positions:
- Founding Board Member of the Indoor Environmental Remediation Board (IERB)
- Director of the Indoor Environmental Institute (IEI).
- Past Member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)
- Edit Committee Chair for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) S500 Water Damage Standard and Reference Guide
- Task Force member and Edit Committee Chair for the IICRC S520 Mold Remediation Standard and Reference Guide
- Chairman of the IICRC Standards Committee
John Banta
John is certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Associate Industrial Hygienist with a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Health Science and 23 years of experience in Indoor Environmental Quality.
He is a specialist in microbiological problems resulting from water damage in buildings. John is a Certified Mold Remediator, an Applied Microbial Remediation Technician and an approved instructor for both the NCHH and IICRC. He has conducted investigations, trained technicians, established worker safety and health programs and supervised crews in sewage, flood and fungal remediation throughout the United States.
He is the co-author of the book titled Prescriptions for a Healthy House: A Practical Guide for Architects, Builders, and Homeowners and author of Extreme Weather Hits Home, Protecting Your Buildings from Climate Change.
Mark Ayers
Mark has 25 years experience in construction, providing residential and commercial building repair and remodeling services. During the past seven years he has specialized in demolition, restoration and reconstruction of fire-damaged, water-damaged and sewage-contaminated buildings. He is an experienced estimator, having engaged in all phases of the building, restoration and reconstruction industry. Mark's building experience includes water proofing and specialty coating systems. He has provided project management services for many high-profile remediation projects. Mark is also an Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC DOSH 06-4038).
Glenn Ray
Glenn Ray has been in the restoration field for many years and as such has handled thousands of water damage and fire damage claims. He has helped clients and insurance companies in avoiding indoor environmental problems. He is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University.
Rod Hoff
Rod Hoff is a Thermographer and instructor with Restoration Consultants Inc. He teaches a two day IR class in moisture and building envelope investigations. A graduate from Florida State University with a degree in education, he received his formal training in thermography from Snell Infrared and Restoration Consultants Inc.
