Health risk shuts grade school; Mold levels spur Austin district to
School district officials on Tuesday closed Hill Elementary in Northwest Austin after tests found a potentially harmful mold in the school. The unusual move comes after several teachers, including one who was rushed from Hill to an emergency room after an asthma attack Friday, and at least one student were treated at hospitals this school year for health problems -- many attributed to mold at the school.

Some classes to resume at mold-infested school
The Austin school district will reopen portions of an elementary school campus that was closed earlier this week after large quantities of a potentially hazardous mold were discovered in buildings. Superintendent Pat Forgione tried Thursday night to assure hundreds of Hill Elementary School parents who attended a meeting at Anderson High School that the portables and annex on the campus will be safe when their children return next week.
